Not a lot has changed regarding the work pattern on the farm. Some of the ewes and ewe lambs are still lambing but we are coming to an end slowly. The older lambs are coming along well and the weather has been very favourable I must say. There's nothing better than seeing the lambs racing each other in the fields whilst their mothers are being fed! My brother is home from University at the moment over the Easter holidays, an extra pair of hands makes a huge difference! Spring is in full bloom now with fields getting greener, I've also heard the cuckoo for the first time this year. Unfortunately I didn't have a penny in my pocket and I was out looking at the sheep therefore who knows if the saying is true and if it's a sign of the year that's ahead!

Since I wrote last, we had a very busy day at the Public Speaking Competitions with the Young Farmers Club. It's a pleasure to say that Carmarthenshire won the Welsh section. Another competition was the Field Day where an opportunity is given to continue to nurture countryside crafts and also develop new skills. One of the calendar highlight, the County Rally, is not far away and is to be held in a few weeks, therefore everyone will be busy preparing and the new officials have already been chosen. The members will be looking forward to the big day.

Happy Easter, and I'll write again before long.
